Trainer Criteria

Process

  • Completed the National Trainer Application and send it to Y-USA Events Registration.  The link to the application form
  • Completed the prerequisite YMCA Course entitled Training Others I (or registered for such clinic where the clinic is being offered in conjunction with the Trainer Clinic)
  • Completed the Record of Meet Experience and bring it to the Clinic

Criteria

  • Certified as a YMCA Level II Official for more than three years (i.e., attended at least one re-certification clinic)
  • Worked as a YMCA Certified Official at a minimum of fifteen meet sessions over the past three years, with at least eight of those sessions being as a Referee or Starter
  • Worked at his/her local YMCA State/District/Zone/Regional/ Championship Meet as a deck official for at least two years and encompassing six meet sessions
  • Recommended by his/her local YMCA CEO, Aquatic Director or Full-time YMCA Employee Coach and a National Officials Committee Member
  • Approved by the YMCA of the USA Director for National Events and the National Officials Committee Chair (Events Registration will forward the Applications for these approvals)
